Australian Society of Teachers of the AlexanderTechnique

Teaching Qualification

To qualify as Teachers in this work, individuals must undergo three years of competency based training at an AUSTAT approved training school.

Aiming for a high level of teaching maturity calls for a process of ongoing learning, responsibility and refinement.

Continuing education and evaluation are considered the norm in the Alexander community.

The AUSTAT qualification is recognised with the affiliated societies of the Alexander Technique worldwide.

Sandra Dobbs

mAUSTAT

Sandra Dobbs trained at the Melbourne Alexander Technique Training School completing her training in 1999 and becoming a full member of AuSTAT (Australian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique).

Elena Cabrera has been in private practice since 1998 and teaches Alexander Technique at the Jandakot School of Natural Medicine. Elena is also qualified as a massage therapist and has her Certificate IV in teaching.
